Eon Rios, MD, Ph.D.

Seven years ago, Dr. Rios joined Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) as Attending Physician in the Department of Dermatology, where he also serves as an Officer of VPG.

In addition to supporting SCVMC’s diverse patient population, Dr. Rios is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and accolades, including the Stanford Dermatology Teaching Distinction Award, Dermatology Foundation Physician Scientist Career Development Award, Edward A. Bauer Research Award for Outstanding Physician Scientist Achievement and the uBiome Citizen Scientist Awardee.

Dr. Rios received his Doctor of Medicine and Ph.D. in Immunology from Stanford University School of Medicine, where he was also a Resident Physician and Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Dr. Rios is a strong believer in being involved in his field, and is a Fellow for the American Academy of Dermatology and Supporter of the Dermatology Foundation.  

A passionate athlete, he received the Arthur Ashe Jr. Academic All-American 1st Team Men’s Soccer award and an avid coach for the American Youth Soccer Organization. He lives in Redwood City with his wife and two boys and enjoys traveling to visit family and friends in Mexico, soccer, snowboarding, running, hiking and mountain biking in his free time.
