Praveen Anchala, MD

Dr. Praveen Anchala is a Radiologist at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC), where he is Chief of Musculoskeletal Imaging and Vice Chair of VPG. Dr. Anchala also teaches and supervises SCVMC and Stanford Radiology residents.

Dr. Anchala was born and raised in the Midwest before finishing high school at the esteemed Milton Academy in Massachusetts. Dr. Anchala earned his B.S. at Northwestern University majoring in Economics and Business Institutions, and continued on to earn his medical degree from Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. While there he was honored with election to Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest and most prestigious academic honor society in the United States, and Alpha Omega Alpha, an honor society for the field of medicine. He went on to complete his residency at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, and pursued Fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at Stanford University. Throughout his career, he has received numerous recognitions, including receiving the “Teacher of the Year” award from SCVMC twice.

He is a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS), the first and oldest radiology society in the U.S., where he serves as an abstract reviewer. He is also board certified and a member of the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Anchala lives in San Jose with his wife and child.
