Dr. Ruiz was born and raised in Santa Clara County and earned her Bachelor of Arts at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire majoring in human biology. She went on to complete her medical degree at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and stayed to complete her residency in general pediatrics at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. She returned home to the Bay Area to complete her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Immediately following completion of her fellowship, she was honored and excited to work for her community at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose, California. She loves working in multidisciplinary team settings and is committed to her patients.

Dr. Ruiz lives with her husband and three children in the East Bay. She enjoys cooking, traveling, exercising, and spending time with her family.
